Having so much fun
03rd February 2013 - 0 comments
Hello,

If the weather hasn’t warmed up yet it certainly is at Luke Keegan Photography. With the success at the recent Wedding Fayre at the Memo, I’m happy to say the futures looking shiney.
This month is the start of “Star of Stage” talent competition and I couldn’t be more excited for it to start. I will be shortly making an appointment to see the venue and check out all the best angles and lighting etc.

For more info on “Star of Stage” talent competition please follow the link at the bottom of the page.

Baby Photography seems to be the order of the week. I have an up-coming family portrait with a little one and all the lovely, cute props are ready for him.
A Charity Ball for Karen’s Cause is on the 2nd of March. So if you fancy a 3 course meal with live entertainment and of course, yours truly photographing the event all for £30 a ticket; then please get in touch using the link at the bottom of the page.

I have booked another 2 Wedding Fayres, 1 for March and 1 for September. The good news about these ones is I will have my sample albums ready with a few more pieces for people to gander at.

I have also dropped my Wedding prices for a limited time so please feel free to have a look; just follow the link below.

Work in print
19th January 2013 - 0 comments
Hello

It has been an exciting few days for me. First my landscape pictures of Jacksons Bay and The Old Harbour were in the local paper The Barry and District. I will soon be taking more pictures of the surrounding areas in the Vale of Glamorgan so hopefully I can get to see them in print too.

Next week is the wedding fair in the Memo, Barry, Vale of Glamorgan and I’m anxiously waiting for my frames and brochures to arrive. This is going to be my first wedding fair so I’m a little nervous but also very excited; I cannot wait to display my work and chat to people: I just hope my deliveries arrive in time or my table will be a little bare.

Some great jobs coming up, Star of Stage www.starofstage.co.uk a national singing competition and Little Inspirations Nursery Photoshoot.

If you haven't already, click like on my home page and my Facebook page to be in with a chance to win a free Photoshoot.

Cheers for now
Fun times ahead

It has been awhile since I’ve put something on here but to say I’m busy would be an understatement. So much has happened in the last few months that it has been a hard and yet thrilling ride.

I attended a wedding seminar last November and I had the chance to learn some crucial skills and to meet some fantastic photographers.. Photographers I will remain in contact with throughout my career.

I have had the chance to assist in 4 weddings which has allowed me to gain the necessary experience to go it alone. Also, I will be assisting another amazing photographer this July which I’m really looking forward to.

My studio is here! That’s right! I have done many portraits since my studio has been completed and it has been fun, fun, fun. My studio is based in the Vale of Glamorgan and is easy to find so if you would like a fun, relaxing and professional portrait session please don’t hesitate to get in touch (07921 030958).

Keep a look out for my leaflets that will be posted in the Vale of Glamorgan area with a special offer. Don’t miss out.

I’m currently editing pictures from an amazing family photoshoot and I cannot wait to show them the results. I would like to say a big thank you to Emma, Jason, Fion, Megan, Warren, Alfie and Isabella for reminding me why I love photography.

Lots of people have been purchasing prints (which is fab). However, I will soon have a page dedicated to frames; and not just any frames like the ones you can purchase from Wilkinson’s or Argos. These frames are at the highest quality, so when you’re thinking of buying a print why not consider a frame that will last the ages and will give your house the WOW factor. Also these frames are at very reasonable prices… Stay tuned!

I have some very exciting weeks ahead and some amazing talent to photograph..

Cheers…

Being a photographer leads to many interesting places and fascinating people. Lately I have been working with the local talent of the upcoming Fame Jr the Musical. 50 + Headshots and rehearsal pictures were the job at hand and I have to say it’s not as easy as I thought…

The headshots I’m very proud of and I had an opportunity to use my portable studio which was an experience in itself. The rehearsal shots however, I found difficult. The problem was a large room with fast moving subjects in low light. A Photographers nightmare! I found myself constantly adjusting the shutter, aperture and ISO to achieve the best pictures I could.

I'm currently editing more rehearsal shots so lots more pics on the way.

Life is all about learning and I’m glad I had an opportunity to work with wonderful talent. For more information about Fame follow the link below

Action at the centre
11th June 2012 - 0 comments
After a few cloudless days I thought summer was finally here; but then the familiar setting had returned. Dark clouds, strong winds and many faces pushed against their living room windows, searching the skies wondering when the sun would return.

Then the weekend was here and the weather forecast promised a Sunny Sunday which was a relief as many artists were promoting their work in Barry Town Centre.

Here we have the young musicians from Area 41, Holton rd blasting some old school music.

And Christian Bullen demonstrating the energetic, calorie burner dance known as Zumba.

It was a good turn out and it was nice to see people enjoying themselves.

It was my step daughter’s birthday and what a better opportunity to try out my home studio. The only problem with this, as I was setting up everybody was drinking. Eyes were half closed and a random spout of laughter would erupt from nowhere! Not to mention my sister in law and her husband decided to undress whilst I was setting my camera up… It wasn’t easy but fun.
All in all everything turned out great so here are a few pictures from the evening. I hope you enjoy.

Olympic Torch 2012
26th May 2012 - 0 comments
The weather couldn’t have been better for the Olympic torch to pass through my home town. The crowd gathered early. The banners were high, the flags were flying and there was an excitement in the air that is not often felt in Kings Square.

I had come from a gruelling night shift but I was not going to let that stop me from getting out and joining the crowd.

It was a once in a lifetime event and I was happy to have seen it..

Ogmore Castle

The sun! How it effects us so. A cloudless day and the shorts are on, the picnic basket is full and the question just rolls from your tongue.. Shall we go somewhere nice? Yes! Yes! Yes!

On this trip my family and I decided to go to Ogmore Castle; one of many beautiful sites that I'm fortunate to live near. Mind you, there isn't much left of it; but it still captures the imagination.

Walking through the ruins you can't help but think how it must have been living in a time of castles. It probably wasn't too great! But I am left too wonder.

Beginnings

I've decided to go live with my NEW website before its completed. I won't bore with the details but let's just say I will fill the gaps on the go..

Over the next week I will upload some portfolios for all to (hopefully) enjoy and I will post a blog as often as I dare.

Until then...
